Rice

Rice is the main staple food for half of humanity. Rice plant Oryza sativa L., belongs to the family of grasses. Its name goes back to the Tamil term "Arisi" and refers to its original home in Southeast Asia. In India alone, there are several hundred different varieties. The basmati rice, which is grown exclusively in the cooler elevations and foothills of the Himalayas is regarded as flavorful best and highest-quality rice. Basmati is Indian and is translated with "Fragrance" in German. This rice characterized long, fine grain by an extreme, which wins when cooking on size, stays there but loose and slim and developed a distinctive, own only the basmati, nutty flavor.
