Leguminous plants are because of your protein wealth worldwide one of the most important staple food for the vegetarian diet of great importance. Delicious Dal and Curry dishes, but also soups and side dishes are prepared from it. Dal is strongly flavored with cumin, coriander seeds, chilies, ginger, fenugreek, Asafoetida and other spices. Thereby, the spices are mostly short easily roasted in ghee (Ayurvedic butterfat) and then given to the Dal. Enrich can Dal with small pieces of vegetables such as carrots, peas, tomatoes, or onions. The main Dal types are Masoor Dal (halved red lentils) and Moong Dal (peeled, halved mung beans) because they need little cooking time and are very tasty. In addition, chickpeas (Channa Dal) are also common and chickpea flour (Besan) used for dishes such as pakora, Kofta and the famous Laddhu (chickpea cake).
